Chairmans Report
A copy of the report will be kept with the minutes of this meeting. The Vice Chair reminded the committee that its members
have a duty to listen to the groups they represent.
Treasurers Report
All at the meeting were given a copy of the annual accounts. Ken Botfield asked about the money ring fenced for tables, and it was noted
that this figure could also have been put in the expenses column as it had already been spent. David Taylor then thanked Jim Homden for his
hard work and dedication to the Parish Hall.
To Adopt the Groups/Organisations FOR 2010/2011
A list of the current groups was now read out along with their nominated representatives. All at the meetinhg were in agreement to accept these
community groups/organisations onto the Parish Hall Committee. It was noted that there were two other groups who wished to become members of the
committee. These will require a two thirds majority of the committee members present to approve their nomination, and this will be voted on at the
next meeting of the Parish Hall Trustees. (Straight after the AGM)
To Receive Nominations for 6 Elected Members from the Parish.
Six nominations have been received from members of the public, and all at the meeting were in agreement that these nominations should be granted a
place on the committee. These nominations were for: David Taylor, Ken Botfield, Kaye Woollacott, Simon Howard, Doreen Parsons, and Sam Spurway.
To Consider Co-option of up to 4 additional members.
Alan Thompson nominated Jim Homden to be co-opted to serve as Treasurer for the Committee, and this was seconded by David Taylor and all members were
in agreement to this nomination being accepted.
Questions from the Floor
1. Feasibility Study - should this go ahead at a cost of £70,000 when the majority of those attending the previous weeks open meeting had expressed a strong
desire that the hall remain on its present site. It was noted that out of the
petition handed to that meeting, 376 individual names have been checked as accurate
against the current electoral roll. It was pointed out that this matter would be voted on at the next meeting of the trustees.
2. Original Questionnaire - it was noted that the original questionnaire handed out by the task group in the Village Scene covered a larger area than that of
the Parish of Witheridge.
3. New Parish Hall - it was noted that the Hall needs to be replaced and that fund raising needs to be started now as this could take 10-15 years. It was suggested
that a sub-committee start the fundraising now. It was noted that all members of the community will need to be involved in this task if the vote is in favour of
replacing the existing hall on the current site.
There being no further issues the Vice Chair declared the AGM to be over.
