Please Contribute Your Witheridge Memories
The Historical archive is keen to receive any memories people may have of Witheridge, however brief, in order to further their attempts to compile a full historical
record. Please take a few minutes to record your recollections and send them to the webmaster. Information may include people, places, wartime, military service of
relatives or friends, anecdotes of life, and anything else that you consider of interest.
Interested in Your Local History!
Volunteers are being sought who might be interested in helping to reform the Witheridge Local History Society which has been dormant for some years. If you are
interested, then please contact the webmaster, or Peter and Freda Tout who will be pleased to hear from you.
Ringers Wanted!
If you are interested in learning to ring (and are over 16), or perhaps someone who has rung in the past and would like to ring again,
please contact our Tower Captain, Den Cockram on 01884 860903. We do have ladies in the tower, so it is not a male dominated pursuit. We
meet in the Church tower on Friday evenings at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start, and you are welcome to just drop in and 'give it a go'.
Witheridge Art Group
Release your inner artist, brush up your skills, master your talent. Due to increased popularity, we now meet in the Parish Hall
committee room on Wednesdays at 7.30pm until 9.30pm. Fancy joining us? We are a group of amateurs who advise each other and just enjoy
are hobby. New members are always welcome. Just turn up on the night!
First Sunday in the Month
Catch some of the biggest names on the South West Jazz Scene live at the Angel between 1pm - 3.30pm. There is no admission charge,
support live music, support your local pub! whilst enjoying the Angel's award winning real ales and wines, and freshly cooked meals
from the extensive menu.
The Rest-a-While Day Centre
Open 10 - 12am Monday to Saturday for Tea, Coffee and Biscuits. Come along and meets your friends. Everyone is welcomed especially
visitors to our village.
Short Mat Bowls
Just a reminder that we meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays all the year round from 7.15pm for a 7.30 start in the Parish Hall. New members
are always welcome, and we have some club woods that newcomers can use. Anyone from Witheridge and surrounding districts, over the age
of 16 can join. Charges are minimal at £1.00 per evening, waived for the first three meetings, and there is an annual membership fee of
£5. If you would like any additional information, then please contact Harry Richardson, Secretary on 860522.
Witheridge Women's Institute
Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2pm in the Parish Hall. Everybody is welcome to come and join in.
Gardening Club
Meets Last Wednesday of the Month 7.30pm Parish Hall.
Parish Council
Meets First Thursday in Month at 7.30pm in the Committee Rooms at the Parish Hall.
