Witheridge & District Gardening Club
At our January meeting Chris Smith from Pennard Seeds and Plants, Shepton Mallett, came to talk to us. We all found his talk most
interesting especially his methods for taking cuttings, in particular the use of oasis.
On Sat. May 14th we will be visiting the Malvern Spring Show. A deposit of £10 is needed asap please. For Club members admission is
£14.50 and £24 (including the coach) for non members who might wish to join us. The cost of the coach is £380! Please phone me if you
are interested.
Arrangements are well under way for the Spring Show. Jean Bryant is Secretary, Sheila Manley has found the judges and the schedule is
agreed. We are hoping for good entries from the new allotment group especially at the Summer Show in August.
At our meeting we discussed what might be a suitable memorial for Millie Williams. It was decided that a flowering cherry with a base
plaque would be what Millie would have approved of. We need to find the right site where it would be noticed by all villagers and her
family too.
