A coffee morning held in support of Breast Cancer Awareness in October raised the sum of £429.33, a fantastic effort

Cancer Research UK

The House to House Collection during September raised £888.38, and the organisers over their sincere thanks to all the volunteers who gave their valuable time going round the village with their tins.

Witheridge Food and Craft Fayre

This increasingly popular event will continue to be held during 2008, and the following dated have recently been announced.

Easter Fayre on 15 March 2008
Summer Fayre on 21 June 2008
Autumn Fayre on 21 September 2008
Christmas Fayre on 13 December 2008

St Johns Fair

At the Annual AGM held in November John Kent stood down as Chairman after a spell of two years along with the secretary, Gill Manning. The new Chairman is Gerald Manning, with Debbie White being elected as the new Treasurer, whilst Claire Goodwin remains as Treasurer.

The Fair takes place next year on 21st June 2008, and plans are well advanced for this ever growing revival of the Ancient Fair.

Witheridge Public Convenience Facility

I would like to advise that these have finally reopened and available to residents and visitors alike after a lengthy closure.

The Devon Social Group has recently awarded The Mitre Inn Gold Status. The Group, which organises many different types of activities and evenings out for people in Devon announced the Gold Award in its Devon Social Awards 2007. Barbara and Andy are delighted with the award.
