Andy and Barbara Would like to welcome you to The Mitre Inn, a Grade Two listed building situated on the Two Moors Way in the lovely village of Witheridge, midway between Dartmoor to the South, and Exmoor to the North. Built by the Benson family in 1840 with the intention of catching the passing trade brought about by the opening of the new Turnpike Road, Aston House, later to be renamed The Mitre, was on the site previously occupied by Hodge's Tenement which was demolished to make way for the new building. Only one part of the original tenement remains, and is now known as Mitre Cottage.

We provide Bed and Breakfast accommodation and serve a wide range of meals cooked to order.
