Dr. Ryan Arias, DO, joins the faculty of the R. Randall Rollins Center for Medical Education at Beebe Healthcare. He will be a key faculty member in the family medicine residency program and will also see patients at Long Neck Primary Care.

Arias earned his medical degree from Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina and completed his family medicine residency training at Harnett Health in North Carolina, where he became chief resident of the program.

He was a teaching assistant in osteopathic manipulative medicine – one of his areas of special interest – and an adjunct professor of family medicine at his alma mater. His other areas of particular interest are the treatment of the “athlete” and simulation medicine, which contributes to the training of clinical teams.

She graduated in 2022 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems. Riggs began her career at SCG as a summer intern in 2021. She works on a variety of tax and audit assignments, and is currently studying for the CPA exam. She is a member of the American Institute and the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Purdum joined Becker Morgan Group in 2014 and has worked on several of the company’s most important educational projects over the past eight years. Wendy Smith, Emma Smith Morris Chair in Management and Co-Director of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at Lerner College, University of Delaware, has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Management (AOM), the premier professional organization for management scholars . The scholarship honors AOM members who have made significant contributions to the science and practice of management. She is one of 17 senior management academics who have been appointed to the position. She will be officially inducted at the AOM Scholars Dinner in Seattle in August. Smith is also the newly elected chair of the AOM’s Organization and Management Theory (OMT) division program. The appointment is a five-year leadership position. Smith has been an active member of UNWTO since 1998 and has held various positions.

Jennifer Joe, Whitney Family Professor of Accounting, Cohen Family Lerner Director of Diversity and Chief Diversity Advocate at the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, has been appointed to the Investor Advisory Group (IAG) of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board ( PCAOB) and Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group (SEIAG). Joe is the only board member to hold a Ph.D. and CPA to serve on both boards.

The PCAOB is a nonprofit corporation created by Congress to oversee audits of public companies to protect investors and promote the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports. The PCAOB also oversees broker and dealer audits, including compliance reports filed under federal securities laws.

Joe is an award-winning researcher whose work examines the impact of key institutional factors on the quality of corporate financial reporting, including audit litigation, regulation, audit quality and reporting tools. data analysis, as well as the role of cognition in decisions using accounting information.
