He said the festival was launched to embrace Nguni culture and heritage through arts and crafts.

“When we organize events of this nature and scale, we always strive to ensure that local communities benefit most from the temporary employment opportunities made available, and this extends to local hiring companies. and supply we rely on.”

Acts for this event include Ntencane, Big Zulu, Khuzani and the legendary Phuzekhemisi who will be supported by Duncan, Zakwe – and many more. The event will also cater to local KZN South Coast artists joining the day’s lineup.

Phelisa Mangcu, CEO of South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE), said it was a fantastic example of the type of event that could be held in the region.

“It is wonderful that the inaugural event was so well received and that KZN South Coast is able to host the second Maskandi Music Festival.

“It not only celebrates the local talent and culture of the Zulu Kingdom paradise, but also positions the KZN South Coast as a key event destination, creating jobs and attracting tourism to the region. We are delighted to welcome these amazing artists and the many maskandi fans to the KZN South Coast. Mangcu added.
