DESIGNATED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD USE, THE VILLAGE HAS A GENERAL STORE AND LOTS OF ARCHITECTURE. >> IT HAS A LOT OF HISTORY, MAINLY IN THE MANUFACTURE. >> THE COMMUTER RAIL STOP IS THE 47 ACRES VEIL RESERVATION MANAGED BY THE END OVER VILLAGE IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY. >> THE TRAIL SYSTEM HERE IS SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE RAILWAYS AND THE RIVER. MOST OF THE MANUFACTURING CAME ALONG THE RIVER. >> IN THE 18TH AND 19TH CENTURIES, THEY MADE AWARD-WINNING FLANNEL, AMONG OTHER PRODUCTS. >> IN THE 1880S THEY HAD MACHINE SHOPS AND ENGINE SHOPS. THEY MADE RUBBER AND POTTERY. QUICK’S THE RIVERBANK AND SURROUNDING WOODS IS THE HOME OF AN INSUFFICIENT RESIDENCE KNOWN ONLY TO LOCALS. QUICK’S THESE UNUSUAL FOREST Dwellers ARE NOT ALBINO. THEY HAVE A GENETIC MUTATION THAT MAKES THEM WHITE AND FOR REASONS FEW UNDERSTAND, THEY SEEM TO LOVE BALLARDVALE. >> WE HAVE NOT SEEN THEM AT ALL OUTSIDE OF ANDOVER. THEY ARE EASY TO SPOT. >> NOT EASY TO SPOT ON CAMERA. WHITE SQUIRRELS LOOK ATTRACTIVE. CAPTURING WILDLIFE ON VIDEO REQUIRES PATIENCE AND IMAGINATION. >> A LITTER GROUP HERE AND THERE WERE SIX SQUIRRELS IN THE MORNING AND FIVE IN THE AFTERNOON. THEY SEE YOU, THEY RUN INTO A TREE AND THEY ARE LEFT. >> I NEVER KNEW THERE WERE WHITE SQUIRRELS. THEY ARE HARD TO FIND AROUND HERE BUT ARE MUCH MORE COMMON IN OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. >> THERE ARE WHITE SQUIRREL FESTIVALS IN NORTH CAROLINA AND ONTARIO, CANADA.
